Trying again
Man. I wish I was creative with this blogging stuff.
I have no pictures, no crafts and no funny story,
but I am going to attempt to blog everyday for the month of November.
To steer away from getting writers block I
am going to mention something I am grateful for.
I feel like I have been quite the Debbie-Downer lately and I
need to step up my game!
So, to kick off 30 days of thankfulness, here we go:
I am extremely grateful for my family. My husband is my best friend, and my love, and my forever. We make a good team and I don't know where I would be without him. I am grateful for our two beautiful babies. Parker is hilarious and a smarty and surprises me everyday. Addi is amazing, brilliant, and is doing a perfect job of keeping up with her brother.
I hope these post get better as the month goes on...
p.s. I am not the originator of this idea, I was inspired by a friend's facebook update.

love/hate
Things I love:
1. Playing sports and working out. I have been trying to take control of me and feel better about myself so I have started working out every morning, sometimes it works. It is Jazzercise. Which is hilarious, but I actually enjoy it. It is great to get up early each day and get a little time to myself, and my husband is so nice he wakes up early (poor guy never gets to sleep in) so that I can go kid-free. I have realized I do much better working out when someone is telling me what to do. Too many years of playing sports and having coaches I guess. Also, (this list may take forever at this rate) I love playing softball on Thursdays. We didn't win the championship this season, which was a bummer but it was great to be back in the swing of things. Pun intended.
2. Addison is crawling! It is amazing and fun and surreal at the same time. My friend April and I were talking about it the other day and neither of us could really describe the feeling. When your first baby is hitting milestones it is exciting and new and amazing. When your second baby is doing it, it is all of those things, but it is also sad and you want time to slow down.
3. My backyard is finished! It is so great to have the grass out there and let the kids run around and play. It looks so beautiful. David did such a great job. I am so grateful and proud of him. We had a birthday party for David last weekend and it was great to have good friends around and enjoy the great weather outside.
4. Living in Tehachapi. I never thought I would say it. It took me a while, but the place grew on me. I now love living in this small town. We have made some great friends out here which makes it better. I miss my friends in Palmdale tons still but things are great out here and get better each week.
5. When Parker sleeps in. He has been getting up pretty early lately and it is not so fun. But right now it is 9:47 am and he is still out. I love the kid tons, but Parker + sleep = muuuuuch better.
Things I Hate:
1. Cancer. My dad is so sick right now and it is awful seeing him so sick. I have always been very close to my Dad, he is one of my best friends. Actually, he should be on the "things I love" list. I don't talk about it much, because it hurts and stresses me out and makes me feel overwhelmed but my heart hurts seeing my Dad so sick. It is a completely new reality when your parent is weak and vulnerable. He can't eat and has none of the personality that I am used to in him. I cannot wait for him to be better so I can have my Dad back. I will post about this more some other time.
2. Being tired. So much has been going on lately and my brain is in over-drive. I am totally exhausted. I am tired of feeling tired.
3. Stupid, annoying arguments with my mom. They shouldn't happen, but they do and it makes me tired. Which I hate, see number 2.
That is about it. I am glad my love list is longer than my hate list, that is a good sign. I suck at blogging and posting and blah, blah, blah, but I am going to work on it. It isn't so bad.

Isn't she lovely?
I love her more than I could imagine. When I was pregnant with her I was so worried about every little detail. Whether I could do it, stressed about having two (TWO!) kids and how they would feel about each other, and how I would feel about them. Then she was born. My little Addison. And it all disappeared. All the worry and stressed just went away.
She is amazing. The most beautiful little one I know. She is always like this, so happy with life and being here and participating. Her eyes are constantly wide open. Like she is studying, taking it all in and waiting for her big moment. This is it, every moment is her big moment for me.

The waitress Nikki
Today is a day of being cooped up in the house and a day of rain. It all seems appropriate. Today a friend of mine, a friend to many, passed away. Nikki was a wonderful co-worker, a fun friend, and a devoted mom. My heart hurts for her boys and her mother. It isn't easy to understand why these things happen, I know I don't have to, I shouldn't even want to know why, but it just isn't fair. She was too young, with too much ahead of her. I am glad she is no longer in pain, and that she will get back her healthy, perfect body, I know she is happy and is with our Heavenly Father. I wish I had more to say, but with this sadness, words elude me. God bless you Nikki, rest in peace.

Fun times with Anya!
David has an aunt named Nancy, sometimes we lovingly refer to her as Aunt Anya, a name David gave to her when he was a wee lad. She is such an amazing aunt. The moment I met her, we clicked. She has always been so kind to me, and treats my children with such love and care. I love her also for the way she loved my husband when he was growing up. We love to hang out with Aunt Nancy, so we decided in January that once a month we are going to get together and have an adventure! We try to plan something really fun that the kids and adults will enjoy. In January we decided to visit Griffith Park for Parker to ride the ponies, and then go see Travel Town. We has such a wonderful time, I can't wait for our next adventure. Thanks Nancy for being so cool!
So, like I said we went to the Pony Rides at Griffith Park. I had never been there before, but David went many times as a child and had some great memories. I didn't really know what to expect. We got there right away got in line for Parker to ride. David handed Parker over to the guy-who-puts-kids-on-ponies (official job title) and he got on and just rode away. I was so shocked. It completely caught me off-guard. I don't know why, but tears came to my eyes immediately. Granted, they are extremely tame horses, and don't go much faster than a snail's pace, and even then, it's only in a very controlled circle, but still... he is my little boy, and he just rode away on a horse!
Parker loved it so much! He went around the circle twice shouting "ye-haw" the entire way, and I snapped photos and video the whole time. Then we went over to the train ride, which we all had a chance to ride, and I loved it as much as Parker. As soon as we got off the train Parker wanted to ride the horses again. So off we went. This time though there was another boy ride. He was older than Parker, maybe 10ish, and he rode a bigger horse, one that went faster. Once Parker realized there was the option of going faster he could not understand why he could get his pony to go! He kept heel-kicking him, and saying, "giddy up!" but the well trained horse would not go. It was so funny to see this, I don't even know where Parker learned how to do all this!
Next we went to Chuck E. Cheese's. My favorite place to go. And when I say it's my favorite place to go I mean that in the total opposite sense. I never liked it, I think it smells like pee and dirty feet, and I think there must be so many germs festering in the tubes. But this day was different. The main difference, unfortunately, I think was because it isn't in the Antelope Valley. It was very clean, and seemed much more controlled, and didn't stink at all. Nancy ordered a pizza that I actually enjoyed and she even gave us each tokens to play with. I was so excited! I will tear up some skee ball! After playing as much as we could stand we cashed in our gazillion tickets and traded them for a sucker and we were on our way.
The day was a blast, everyone was exhausted and crashed in the car. Addison had a great time too, although she has yet to talk about it. Parker loved, loved, loved it and asks me at least once a week if he can go ride the horses. Maybe one day a grandma or an aunt will buy him one...(hint, hint)

Because gravity is a law
A conversation between me and Parker. We are just sitting on the couch watching T.V. and hanging out together.
Parker: Mom, do you have a bra on?
Me: What?
Parker: Do you have a bra on Mom?
Me: Yeah, see it's right here. (showing him the strap)
Parker: Good job Mom!
Me: Thank you Boogy.

High Five!!
It is late and I am tired, but I have a goal. When I was younger I ALWAYS wanted to keep a diary. Browsing through a store, picking out the perfect journal was one of my favorite things to do. I could kill hours in the stationary section. When I finally picked out a book to put all my secrets in I would get home and write in it immediately. I would fill up the first page with my thoughts, and put it away in a safe place. And then I would never touch it again. It is funny/sad to go through old diaries and read one stinkin' page! So when I started this blog my main goal was to get at least two entries in. And here it is!! (gotta work on setting higher goals)
David is on vacation for two weeks and we have been having a great time. It has been busy but wonderful. I have tons of pictures, but unfortunately we left our camera in Palmdale, and I won't be able to get it until I see my parents again. But on the flip side, that could be a good thing because that means I will probably have a third entry.
Holla! for a goal achieved!

Official first post.
So, I'm doing it. I have finally started a blog. I have wanted to start a blog for a long time, I think about it constantly. I love to read blogs. Blogs that my friends write, and blogs from people I know nothing about. (Until I read their blog, and how in the heck do I find these people, but they are awesome!) Now that I have finally started this thing I have no idea what I am going to write. I don't know the rules of this thing, or how to be funny, or smart, or whatever. But I love my life and my husband and our kids, and life is going so fast that I must start writing it all down before it all disappears. And so it is my new goal this year... to take note and record all the big things, and little things and everything in between. And I want to share it all with family and friends, so I hope it's entertaining. I can't wait to see where this goes.
